We spend a lot of time in our store thinking about heritage, about our ancestors, about where they came from and what their stories were. Many of us don’t get the chance to visit those far-off lands, so we wanted to bring their traditions to you this year!
We’ve searched high and low to find the best creches and Christmas traditions from around the globe. We’ve found woodworkers in Norway who hand-carve and paint each piece of their nativities (pictured above). We’ve worked with porcelain artists in Limoges, France to bring in delicate lucioles with glowing holiday scenes. We’ve hunted down Swedish advent wreaths with candles for each of the Sundays before Christmas. We’ve waited anxiously as our German pyramid nativities, hand-carved and hand-painted, shipped across the ocean. And we can’t wait for you to see them all!
Our goal was to bring meaningful nativities from a variety of price ranges and a variety of cultures. We hope you’ll find something that will become a family heirloom, one that helps your whole family feel close and share rich memories of those who came before.
