Pioneer Shampoo

One of the most common gifts from a pioneer man to his bride to be was a comb, brush and mirror. Most families only owned one of each. Most pioneers only washed their hair between once a week and once a month. The pioneers weren’t blessed with some of the great shampoos we have today, but they made it work. In case we lose all access to our current hair care products here’s a fun little recipe to create your own homemade shampoo!

Pioneer Shampoo
1/4 cup distilled water
1/4 cup liquid Castile soap
1/2 teaspoon grape seed oil

Mix ingredients in a bottle – shake well before use!
